What S3 and EC2 Can Teach Us About Building AI Agents
Building an agent can feel like learning an entirely new stack before you can even begin. Twenty years ago, S3 and EC2 gave developers useful building blocks for storage and compute, letting them start closer to the application they wanted to create. AI agents expand what applications can do: work toward a goal, use tools, and choose the next step from what they find.
This keynote follows one agent from idea to working application. We’ll combine familiar AWS capabilities with Bedrock, Strands, AgentCore, Kiro, and Agent Toolkit for AWS, showing what each contributes and where your judgment as a developer matters. APIs, data, permissions, observability, and human handoffs all shape what the agent can do.
You can begin without becoming an ML specialist or understanding every agent service. You’ll leave with one project you can picture building and a clearer sense of the skills you already bring to it.
